Robert G. Britt
Founder, CEO and Chairman of the Board
Britt is the CEO and Chairman of PlantPharm BioMed, LTD. Mr. Britt has been President and Chairman of Quantum Tubers Corporation and of American Ag-Tec International Ltd., which became the largest USA marketer of hybrid seed corn to international markets and, which purchased the worldwide patent for the accelerated growth of pathogen-free seed potatoes currently used in the production of a Hepatitis B plant-derived vaccine. Mr. Britt graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Agricultural Education from Illinois State University. During the past 35 years, Mr. Britt has been in the business of developing international businesses and joint ventures in agricultural seed research & development, distribution, genetic research, food processing & production, along with biotechnology research & development.
Richard R. Matner, Ph.D., MBA
President, Chief Strategy Office and Board Member
Dr. Matner served as Director of Technology Transfer and Commercial Development for Roswell Park Cancer Institute from 2005-2013 where he managed all commercialization activities for intellectual property originating from Roswell Park; spinning out 9 startup companies in the process and negotiated and executed a number of licensing agreements with Chinese pharmaceuticals. Dr. Matner’s unique experience in the development and implementation of strategies to commercialize pharmaceutical research, oversee patenting, licensing and marketing of technologies along with his insight into commercially viable biopharmaceutical technologies is a valuable asset to PlantPharm BioMed, Ltd. Dr. Matner spent 23 years at the 3M Corporation, Health Care Division, St. Paul, MN where he held a variety of positions of including Scientist, Product Development Specialist, Development Manager and Marketing Manager for the Biotechnology and Medical Divisions; holding 9 patents and leading 6 commercialization teams from concept to market. Dr. Matner was directly responsible for gaining $190 million in annual revenues from his commercialized inventions, obtaining a Six Sigma black belt in the process. Dr. Matner discovered and commercialized the diagnostic test that tracked down the Jack-in- the-box E. coli outbreak in the Pacific Northwest and subsequently won a 90% market share in global E. coli testing for 3M. His organization of private industry, K Street lobbying groups, and governmental agencies resulted in his diagnostic test codified into the Pathogen Reduction Act. Dr. Matner earned a doctorate in Molecular Biology and Biophysics from the University of Rochester, Rochester, NY and a Masters of Business Administration in international marketing from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, MN.
Thomas L. German, Ph.D.

In memoriam, we recognize Dr. Thomas L. German, Ph.D. (1941-2023), our esteemed Chief Science Officer at PlantPharm, whose profound influence shaped the landscape of plant-based, oral solid dose vaccines. Dr. German, a distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, shepherded our organization for over 25 years, providing visionary guidance and fostering enthusiasm in our R&D endeavors. As a luminary in plant pathology, virology, and biology, Dr. German's extensive academic background uniquely qualified him to spearhead strategic research at PlantPharm. His leadership roles, including Chairs of both the Entomology and Plant Pathology Departments, Director of the Wisconsin Seed Potato Certification Program, investigator for numerous scientific publications, and engagements with esteemed institutions like the Tianjin Vegetable Institute, showcased the breadth of his expertise. Dr. German's mentorship was instrumental in advancing plant-based biopharmaceuticals, and establishing PlantPharm as an industry innovator. This humble tribute encapsulates the enduring impact of a visionary mentor, underlining his vital role in shaping our corporation's scientific path to the future of transforming the way that vaccines and pharmaceuticals are manufactured and delivered.
Robert Y. Ni, Ph.D
Board Member
Dr. Robert Y. Ni, is an American Citizen and a prominent business figure in China with extensive contacts among senior government officials at both the central and local levels. Dr. Ni was born in China and educated in Taiwan and the USA. He obtained his doctorate from Illinois Institute of Technology in 1971 and served as a professor at City Colleges of Chicago until 1992. After his retirement from academia, Dr. Ni resumed his role in business, particularly with mainland China as a focus. As a veteran in China business for 30 years, Dr. Ni has earned respect across the U.S. business community and is held in high regards as a business liaison by the Chinese government. Dr. Robert Ni is currently President/CEO of World Technology and Trade, Inc. Dr. Ni’s business includes the development of business collaborations between the U.S. and China.
Cheryl J. Dillner
Director of Marketing and Board Secretary
A business leader with thirty years of professional experience in both sales and marketing. Most recently Ms. Dillner led the marketing communications team for a premier consumer packaged goods company, with an emphasis on digital marketing strategies. Additional experience includes wholesale and retail sales and marketing both domestically, and globally across industries including professional cleaning, water supply equipment, and prepared foods. A Graduate of the University of Wisconsin-Madison holding a BA in International Relations and an International Business Certificate with an additional certification in Digital Marketing from Northwestern Kellogg University in Chicago.
R.C. Suresh
Board Member
Mr. Suresh is the Chairman and Managing Director of the RCS Group of Companies headquartered in Kuwait City, Kuwait. Mr. Suresh is the organizational lead for introduction of the Indian operations of PlantPharm. He began his career in 1977 as a Junior Officer in the Department of Imports & Exports (Letters of Credit) at the National Bank of Kuwait. In 1984 when he began M/s Mohd. & Al Sahen Foodstuff Co. in Kuwait with an annual turnover of $300 Million dollars and holding a 30% market share of Restaurant and food markets in Kuwait. An additional holding in Kuwait is the largest catering company in the Gulf co-operation Countries providing services to over 40,000 people per day in Kuwait alone with over 120,000 meals per day served. He is a graduate in Economics from Punjab University, Patiala, India.
Joseph T. Smith
Board Member
Mr. Smith brings the experience of 18 years in Sales and Marketing with a Division of Abbott Laboratories and more than 25 years in healthcare and pharmaceutical consulting. With over 35 years of experience in managing the delicate business relationship between public and private sectors in issues as diverse as promotion of pharmaceutical products, anonymous HIV testing and emergency communications, Joe has established a reputation for honesty and integrity in both areas. He has published and spoken extensively in the area of ethical business promotion. And, with a combination of tenacity and humor he readily applies logic and expertise to complex business issues. Joe is a member of Legatus, the League for Business Ethics, The American College of HealthCare Executives, The Society of Competitive Intelligence Professionals, and North American Academy of Arts and Sciences. Mr. Smith was a Summa cum Laude graduate of Villanova University and the University of Pennsylvania.
